Water update - June 2016

By: Regional Infrastructure Projects Coordinator, Steven Cosatto........

Qld Water is seeking Water Service providers and water industry input into the National Water Training package work plan.

Under the new national arrangements for training product development the water Industry Reference Committee is required to develop a four year work plan for the National Water Training package. The work plan will include industry analysis (e.g. emerging skills and associated training needs for an industry) and a proposed plan for reviewing and developing the training product. The IRC work plan will be submitted to the Australian Industry Skills Committee (by end September 2016) to inform the development of a four−year rolling National Schedule of training package development and review work. The work plan will be reviewed annually.

Qld Water is currently on the interim water Industry Reference Committee and is seeking Queensland industry input to inform the development of the four year plan.

If you have encountered any implementation issues with the new training package (e.g. related to the packaging rules), believe that additional units should be added or any other amendments to the package are required, please contact Michelle Hill on (07) 3632 6853 or email email/mhill)(qldwater.com.au with details.
