The symposium demonstrated some significant technical advances in herbicide application including unmanned vehicles like remote control helicopters. Given some of our biggest challenges are seasonal access to sites, staff safety, and limited resources, tools like this could play an important role in our operational toolkit in the future. The take away message for the Far North was the importance of innovation and adopting new technologies. We will be discussing future options in this space in the NAMAC in the coming month.
The next symposium will be in Longreach in 2015. For more information or to sign up for future events go to the Weed Society Queensland website - www.wsq.org.au.
