Natural Asset Management encompasses the activities of Local Government in relation to pest management, landscape repair and restoration, biodiversity conservation and general landscape management practice including fire and catchment management and planning.
The Far North region is an agriculturally rich and ecologically diverse landscape which is home to significant natural icons such as the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforests as well as the vast savannah woodlands, wetlands and plains of Cape York Peninsula and the Einasleigh Uplands.
Local Governments and their partners work closely with the community to advance our understanding, appreciation and management of our unique landscape and lifestyle.
