Weed Spread Prevention The aim of this regional weed spread prevention project is to reduce and help manage weed spread of environmental and declared weeds across the Wet Tropics and neighbouring regions by use of mobile cleandown facilities. The mobile cleandown facilities that have been funded by ‘Reclaim the Bush – a Pest Offensive’ were the first of their kind in Australia. The mobile cleandowns are a fully self contained facility that have their own power and water. The units are mounted on a heavy duty trailer, suitable for off-road use if needed and can be taken anywhere by a regular vehicle. The three cleandown units are available for use by a range of stakeholders in the Wet Tropics region, including local governments, primary producers such as canegrowers, and State Government Agencies such as Queensland Parks and Wildlife and for trial by Main Roads.
